Athames
Copperwitch athame blades are made from solid copper and hand carved to shape. The brass fittings are made from solid brass bar.
Copper is an amazing metal for conducting energy and far superior to steel as millions of miles of electrical wiring testify. It has a wonderful warm richness to its colour when polished and every time you polish it more of your energy will go into it.
No two Copperwitch athames are the same as I don't work from templates but by eye, so the athames tend to evolve into a finished piece and each takes on a character of its own as I make it. As these athames take me about a week to craft I am happy to make it over a specifc moon period: new moon to 1st quarter etc, depending on your planned requirements. Once your athame is completed Ican consecrate and bless it for you but I will only do this if requested.
My athames are made to disassemble for ease of cleaning and come in their own presentation box complete with a certificate of authenticity and a guide for their care. I don't keep athames in stock as I enjoy making to commission. You can see the style of my work and price range from those listed below.

Copper Athame with Bog Oak handle
This athame was made over the five days following the full moon in November 2009. The blade is of handcrafted solid copper 7 inches long. The handle is of Cheshire bog oak, approximately 5,000 years old. It has an oil and wax finish. The fittings are of solid brass. An overall length of 12 inches. Presented in a made to measure, velvet covered presentation box.

Copper Athame with Selenite Handle
The blade of this athame is 6.5 inches long and .75 inches wide and is hand filed from solid copper. The hilt and pommel are hand made from brass bar. The handle is selenite trimmed with a lower band of hematite and burnt ash for the upper ring.The overall length is 10.5 inches. It weighs 9oz/250g approx.This is rather a feminine athame made with the Goddess Selene in mind.

Handmade Copper Athame with Black Lacquered Handle
This athame is similar to the selenite one above but has a traditional black handle. The handle is elder wood and has 6 coats of panther black, a subtle metalic finish, a further 7 coats of clear lacquer were then applied.
Also quite a feminine dagger.

Copper Athame with Clear Lacquered Elder Handle
This athame was made for a commission, it is very masculine in its nature. The blade is hand crafted from solid copper and measures 7.75 inches and is 1.2 inches wide, overall length is 12.5 inches.The Handle fittings are solid brass and the pommel design is based on the Osiris pendulum. The handle is lacquered elder wood. It weighs 15oz/425g approx.
